It used to be common practice for rappers to sample songs from the 80's and used them for hooks and production (Biggie - Hypnotize and The Federation - Stunna glasses being prime examples) However as everything seems to rappers evolved and started using brand new songs to sample, searching for some success in familiarity if you will (T.I., Jay-Z, Kayne and Lil Wayne - Swagga like us for instance) This is another example of this as Shawty Lo has sampled ColdPlay's Vida La Vida. I would've gotten a better rapper to sample my song if I were Coldplay but I guess Yeah does rhyme with Chyeah so the lyricism is there, it's just hidden, like Shawty Lo's father!
